A visual guide
India's trusted marketplace for indigenous cows. Buy, sell, adopt as seva, or find a vet — all free, all in one place. Here's exactly how every flow works.
Step 01
Three taps to a verified listing near you.
Tap "Browse Cows" in the top nav. Every listing you see has been human-reviewed and approved by our team — no auto-approved spam.
Pick your state and district so you only see cows you can actually visit. You can also filter by breed (Gir, Sahiwal, Tharparkar…) and price.
Photos, breed, age, milk yield, vaccinations, location — all on one page. The Verified badge means we checked the seller’s documentation.
Step 02
Free to list. Free to sell. No commission, ever.
Go-LX never takes a cut of your sale. The platform is funded by donations and partnerships so farmers and gaushalas can reach buyers without paying middlemen.
Sign up with your email and a password. Your mobile number is private — it is never shown publicly until you choose to share it.
Top-right button. A four-step form: cow details, photos, location & price, review. The form autosaves locally so you can leave and come back.
Photos do most of the work. Take pictures in daylight. A side view + a face shot are the minimum. You can add up to five.
Our team reviews within 24 hours, usually faster. If we need a small fix — a clearer photo, a missing breed — we let you know inline.
When a buyer requests your contact, you decide whether to share your number. Approve and they can call. Decline and your number stays hidden.
Step 03
No money changes hands. The cow goes to a loving home.
Some cows are no longer dairy-productive, or their owners can no longer keep them. Without adoption, many end up at the slaughterhouse. Through Go-LX, owners give them to a verified gaushala, family or farm — free of charge — as seva for the cow’s remaining life.
On the Browse Cows page, toggle "For adoption". These listings have a Heart icon and price = ₹0. Many come from owners who are moving away from dairy.
Each adoption listing has a "Her Story" section written by the current owner. Read it carefully — it explains why she is being rehomed and what kind of home she needs.
Tap "Apply to adopt". You describe your home (rural farm, urban, gaushala, temple), your transport plan, and accept the pledge: you will not sell her, not slaughter her, give her a peaceful life.
The current owner sees every applicant’s context and decides who fits best. If approved, both sides coordinate the handover privately.
Both sides confirm the handover in the app. The cow then appears anonymously on the Happy Homes page — a public count of cows who found safe homes.
Step 04
Phone numbers are private until the seller approves.
Unlike most marketplaces, sellers’ phone numbers are NEVER shown publicly on Go-LX. This protects sellers from spam and serious buyers from time-wasters. You request, the seller decides.
Sign in if you have not already. The "Request Contact" button replaces the hidden phone number on every listing.
One request per listing — you cannot spam the same seller twice. The seller gets a push notification with your name and district.
They see your name and location only — not your phone. They tap Approve or Decline in their profile inbox. Decline can include a reason.
If approved, the seller’s mobile appears on the listing for you, with one-tap call and WhatsApp buttons. You and the seller deal directly from there.
Step 05
Verified large-animal vets, AI workers and para-vets near you.
Each profile lists services, qualifications, languages spoken and a Verified badge if we have checked their state council registration.
Vaccination, AI (artificial insemination), fertility check, surgery, 24×7 emergency, general practice — narrow the list to what you need.
Vet phone numbers are public on Go-LX. No request needed. Tap Call or WhatsApp to reach them straight from the profile.
Step 06
Registered cow shelters across India.
Gaushalas are cow shelters run by NGOs, temples or trusts. They take in abandoned, old, or rescued cows and care for them as seva. Many also accept adoption applications from the public.
Filter by state and service. Each gaushala profile shows district, services offered, and verified registration status.
Public phone, email and address are shown on each profile. Call ahead — many gaushalas are remote and have set visiting hours.
Most gaushalas welcome donations of cash, fodder, or labour. They are also the most common destination for adopted cows.
Step 07
Subsidies, loans, insurance — central + every state.
We list central schemes (Rashtriya Gokul Mission, NLM, NPDD, AHIDF, LHDC) and state-specific schemes for animal husbandry departments.
Each scheme page summarises who can apply, what is offered (subsidy %, loan amount, insurance cover), and the documents you will need.
We link to the government department’s own portal for the actual application. Go-LX is informational; the official site is where you submit.
Step 08
Listings, requests, adoption intents, settings — all in one place.
Top-right → My Profile. See your listings, contact requests (received and sent), adoption intents, vet profiles, and a timeline of recent activity.
Tap "Edit Profile" to change name, state, district or preferred language. Profile photo: tap to preview at full size, change it inside Edit Profile.
Settings handles password change and account deletion. Enable push notifications to get alerts when buyers request your contact or admins approve a listing.
Step 09
How we keep Go-LX safe — and what you should check yourself.
Verification on Go-LX is documentation-based. We check papers; we do not physically visit cows or vets. Treat every listing like a serious in-person meeting: inspect before money changes hands.
Listings reviewed for plausible breed, photos and pricing. Vets verified against state council registration. Gaushalas verified against NGO / Society registration.
Cow health on-site, exact milk yield, ownership documents. Always inspect the cow yourself before paying. Ask for sale receipts and vaccination cards.
Every listing and profile has a Report button. Pick a reason, submit. Our team reviews within 24-48 hours and removes confirmed bad listings.
