Key benefits

  • Financial assistance for setting up Gokul Grams (integrated cattle development centres)
  • Support for IVF labs, sex-sorted semen production and breed multiplication farms
  • Sex-sorted semen at subsidised cost for farmers to skew calf births toward female
  • Establishment of Gopal Ratna and Kamadhenu awards for best breeders
  • Promotion of indigenous breeds: Gir, Sahiwal, Red Sindhi, Tharparkar, Rathi etc.

Who can apply

  • State governments and UTs
  • NDDB, ICAR institutes, agricultural universities
  • Registered cooperative societies and NGOs in dairy/animal husbandry
  • Individual farmers benefit indirectly via state implementing agencies

Documents needed

  • Aadhaar card
  • Passport-size photo
  • Bank passbook copy
  • Proof of cattle ownership (or vet certificate)
  • Land/lease document or PAN card

How to apply

  • Individual farmers: approach your district Animal Husbandry office
  • Institutions: submit proposal through the State Implementing Agency
  • For sex-sorted semen, contact the nearest semen station listed on the DAHD portal
